It is a common myth that the Syclone and Typhoon's 4.3L, 90° V6 engine is a standard Small Block Chevy (SBC) 350ci with "two cylinders whacked off". Unfortunately this is not entirely true. Some parts for the Sy/Ty engine are the same as SBC parts, and should be easy to find at any parts store:

• pistons
• piston rings
• valves
• valve springs
• push rods
• lifters
• timing sets (gears/chain)
• harmonic balancer
• cam bearings (Set for eight cylinders)
• main bearings (Set of eight)
• oil pump
• water pump

Some parts are specific to the 4.3 and SBC parts definately won't work:

• connecting rods
• rod bearings
• camshafts

Below are some GM part numbers for items you may only be able to find at a dealership. 'LH' is for the driver's side, 'RH' for the passenger's side. Part numbers are from the September 1991 S/T Illustrated Parts Catalog for 1991-1992 model vehicles.
