All the above can help keep temps down, but only until the oil that gets
stuck in there ignites. Motor oil ignites at a much lower temperature than
gasoline. (400F to 900F range). We know exhaust gas temps can reach the
1300F range. If you do it, make sure you never have an oil leak.

The wrap can also collect moisture and accelerate rust.
