Hope Roby doesn't mind me broadcasting probably the best race story this
list has produced, in his own words:

Subject: New 911 Turbo succumbs to Syclone

The ultimate street fight happend on Saturday 9/14
The new Porsche 911 Turbo, AWD, 400+ HP Leaner, Meaner, Boasted as being the
Fastest production car in the world. Is It? I think it could be!
After a night at a local 90s dance music club known as the Roxy here in
Houston, Me and someone much richer than me were competing for the same
female most of the night. Due to my good looks (<just kidding) the fine babe
left w/ me.
as we were driving our way up Westhimer RD. the same guy pulled up next to
me
an further attempted to pick up Amber who was now riding w/ me.
Well enough about the story of wich guy gets girl.
I was in the middle of a very cocky attitude. He was reving his engine next
to me, and I pointed my finger at him and said "Trust me! You really don't
want me to" He then mouthed off about something, I couldn't hear, and
continued to rev his Turbo up and do a bunch of 20mph. punches
We finally got stopped at a light, but then he stopped reving his engine. I
got an attitude and yelled out at him... "Are you gonna come run with the
big dogs now, or ya just gonna sit on the porch and bark?"
The 911 engine started racing again, 5 to 6 thousand RPM revs now. At this
time Amber asked me "Are you serious, Can you beat him? I said "just rest
your head against the seatback and observe. I managed to dial up 3 psi boost
B4 the light gave us the go. He launched at I would guess 7000 RPMs. I
launched very smooth and Syclone like. Instantly I was out on him by 20 feet
and barely stayed there all the way up. He never did manage to reel me in.
Top speed for me was an estimated 110 MPH.
He made it a very close race. I didn't dispose of him off the line like I
do
all other cars. Only 20 feet decided this one. This was the closest street
race I had ever had. It was kind of scary. This Porsche would have eaten any
Mustang, Z28, Corvette or Viper on the road period. End of story! Had I not
got an excellent launch he would have eaten me too. I have never seen a
production car run like that on the street. I could not shake him off!! I
was amazed! NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING with 2wd. & radials would have beaten
that Porsche. I don't care how bad you think your car is. If you didn't have
AWD or slicks you would have chalked up a loss! This was one hell of a bout.
We got stopped at another light, he then put his window down and said " Not
tonight but we WILL have a rematch and I WILL be prepared!" Whatever
that means.
As the victorer of the race I simply said that I will be prepared for him
too.
Great! now my Syclone has a $118,000 enemy.
A word of warning. If you decide to race a new AWD 911 Turbo, Give it all
you got! Because THEY CAN COME OFF THE LINE WITH YA!
P.S. You Better be runnin low 12s too!
                             Have a good weekend!!!!!
