[ISTA] Some comments on KC......

Hi all,

To start, please read this post word for word so there are no
misinterpretations......

I have been reading the recent posts and have a few things I would like to
say.  First of all, thank you to ALL of you who had kind words and told me
to stay strong and not give up on KC after all that has happened.  Some of
you misinterpreted my post about the situation.  I was not bringing laundry
to the list; I was telling everyone why I could not support the KC event
and why I could not be the ONE TO ORGANIZE the event after all it had cost
me.  Sorry to those who didn't like or agree with what I had to say about
the situation and the people involved.  I felt and still feel betrayed by a
member of the list; neither forgive nor forget.   After reading all of the
support posts and receiving dozens of phone calls, I realize that there are
ALOT of good people still here and that the strong and honest will prevail.
 The recent instances will not hold this event down and that makes me feel
relieved.

Many of you may remember my posts about decal contests and the KC video and
the various other questions and suggestions on opinions.  Well, to be
frank, the response was horrible.  My confidence in others to support the
event were all but gone anyway.  I now see that you guys really want this
to happen and will do anything to get the job done.

On the other hand, I see total chaos around the corner.  "I want to stay
here and I want to stay here".......Many of these things are already lined
up and CANNOT be changed for multiple reasons.  At this point the meat and
potatoes of the event are already finished.  Please understand I have done
much of the leg work already.  What WE need to do is Ice the cake.

I would still like to follow the organizing of this event through.  I did
not and do not want to drop it 100% for someone else to pick up.  I have
never backed out of a commitment and don't plan on starting; however, I
need help and lots of it.  This is the most interest the event has gotten
since the 1997 posts about "how many of you will come if I do this".

I would like to be involved in the rest of the planning.  I know exactly
what needs to be done and about how much it will cost to do it and how
long.  I certainly hope you all understand that this was my creation and I
enjoy doing it. My passion is mine and obviously cannot be taken away (at
least all of them).....  I just need lots of physical help and support from
volunteers to get it done and get it done right.  I do not care about
receiving credit.  There is still plenty of time to do things just as
originally planned.

If the list agrees, I will prepare a list of exactly what is done and what
needs to be done.  Then we can volunteer from there.  If you all think it
would be best for me to drop out,  I understand.  Its hard to be 110% into
this hobby right now seeing where it has gotten me, but I will not quite
unless the attendees (potential attendees) want me to.  I still have enough
to get the job done.  If you didn't plan on going then keep your opinions
to yourself ;-)

Again, I am not saying disreagrd my previous post.  I am saying I would
like to still be a PART of this and need lots of help, like the kind that
has been coming out recently.  I am not ready to even try this solo.  The
event would suffer and that would not be fair.

Let me know how you ALL would like to proceed.......Jeff, Sue, Ed, Dabney,
