Oh this is just something so perfect to jump on. Come on is everyone asleep out
there. Or just responding to Frank only ?

On the street a good running Sy/Ty should be able to beat most cars. When the
quarter starts streching out is when you are going to have problems.

Dodge Vipers - saw a bunch last weekend at Pomona. I did not see a stock
looking one go 12.2 - like I have seen in magazines. Most were in the mid to
high 12's New vettes were in the high 13's and one new convertible was running
14's. There was a new AWD Porsche twin turbo. I saw it run a 12.80 @ 108 mph.
These also are supposed to go 12.2's ??

The Sy/Tys are point and shoot. Hard to screw up a shift in an auto. Hard to
screw up traction in an AWD.

One big difference can be tuning. A good tune up and tweaking can turn a mid 15
second truck into a high 13 second truck. And a good launch can knock an easy
0.6 off your quarter time. Numbers for numbers take 13.8 for a stock Sy. 14.3
for a Stock Ty. Grab yourself a Car and Driver - or Road and Track and look at
the road test summary.

But what it all means when it comes down to it - is there are too many little
variables that play into things when you talk racing.
