More brake questions.
Okay, here's the deal:
About a week ago I started having trouble with the brakes on the
truck. Symptom was that at a stop light the brake pedal would slowly go
down towards the firewall until it got to the bottom of the travel. Then
both the ABS and Brake light came on.
I cleared the codes and it seemed to be fine for a couple of days.
Recently it's been getting worse. I just filled up with gas and was
driving around 40 mph. I had to turn and started pressing on the
brakes. It slowed down, but not as fast as usual and the pedal had
execssive travel.
Could it be that there is a vacuum leak somewhere in the braking
system that causes this OR could there be air in the lines that is
allowing the pedal to go down so far? I am planning on getting the
brakes bled tomorrow to be on the safe side, but anyone have any ideas
(I know the ABS module is probably on the way out, but this should only
affect the ABS portion of braking, correct?)
Thanks
