Boost spike

Ok guys, got a question.
#1. Everyone has diff. opinions about exhausts to run on a Ty. I have 
heard if you take off cat converter, you could get "boost spikes". Is 
this true?
#2. What is a boost spike?
#3. Why wire IC pump to run when ignition comes on if you have a chip 
that turns it on at 60 degrees? (Its over 60 degrees outside most of 
the time where I live, therefore it should immediately kick the pump 
on correct? ) Thanks in advance..

P.S.  Several ppl have asked me about the Phillips blackout 
headlights.. I have used them (along time ago) on an S-10, they look 
cool when they are off, but, they do not perform at night. It is a 
give and take deal. Personally, I want the lighting performance at 
night, since, as we all know, alot of our driving takes place at 
night. (Most of mine) but, to each their own! They won't quite 
produce the light of stock 55W halogens. Hope that helps a little..
