Transfer case blues

Has anyone ever had and problems with their transfer case. If so, please tell
me what it did?  Mine is making a horrible grinding noise when lugging the
motor in 3rd and 4th gear.  The tranny has to be in lock up mode and engine
running right near 1500 rpm.  I have rebuilt the tranny but the noise still
exists.  I put the truck up on jack stands and ran it. It made the noise with
no load at all.  I seems to be the transfer case but I am open for
suggestions.

PS. I sold Syclone number 4 and will sell the other 2 if this crap persists!
