Hey Ryan,
I say don't eliminate the CAT.  I just had my Sy in for service and GM went
nuts when they saw I didn't have one.  They were all set to deny my claims
until I proved my dealer sold me the Sy w/o a CAt.  Also, I had originally
brought my SY in for service b/c of crazy detonation and boost spikes, and low
and behold, they were CAUSED by the elimination of my CAT: no back pressure=no
wastegate control=boost spikes=blown motor!!!!!  Hope this helps.
