Yes, I had precisely this idea.  I bought a Derale remote transmission
cooler that I (eventually) will mount on the underside of my bed.  The unit
is designed to be mounted anywhere, even against a flat piece of metal (the
brackets keep it far enough away to provide proper flow.  It is designed
with a built-in electric fan, and is two sections of 10"x10" cooler mounted
one in front of the other, with a total of 16 passes through the fins.
