They dont really.
But in real world numbers Tys were low 14 sec trucks. 86-87 GN's 14 sec , GNX
13.5. Dont jump on me with any other weird numbers . I know of plenty at least
+/- .5 secs stock.
The production numbers around 5400 ish Tys . GN/T-Type/Limited with
turbo/intercooled 3.8 lots, and lots over all the years 78-87 there was around
100,000. GNX's 547.
As far as modified goes. A lot more GNs out there. Five more years of
development. 86-87's A better fuel management system , Sequential Fuel
Injection, MAF sensor. Air/ Air intercooler. More parts, more developers , more
people in general experimenting.
There are some very fast Sy/Ty's out there but there are just not the numbers of
trucks to compete with the GN's.
Real world driving. The GN's are fun , but for traction from a stoplight , try
and beat a sy or ty.
