ATR Battery Relo / Low Boost

Hey List

Did some work on the Typhoon today with Jim Newton. Installed the ATR
Battery Relo kit and the ATR Cold Air kit. Also tried to find the reason
for hitting only 10 lb of boost (spike) with sustained boost of only 8 lb.
This is obviously very similar to the boost problem Jeff is having.
Anyhow, while installing the cold air kit Jim noticed a broken vacuum line
to the wastegate which he repaired. We were VERY disappointed when it did
nothing at all to help the boost situation. Unfortunately, we did not have
time to delve deeper into the thing. Jim does have an extra solenoid which
we'll hook up next weekend to see what happens, although this did not seem
to help Jeff per his post.

So, does anybody have any ideas about the low boost?

Also, does anybody know if the Optima battery fits in the ATR Battery Relo
kit tray? The replacement battery I have now has a different "mounting
lip" molded into the side (for the hold down bar) and does not fit well.
I'm interested to hear which batteries do work well with the ATR kit.

BTW, Truckin' Magazine has a short article about the new steel cowl hoods
in the latest issue. The one they show is for the fullsize pickup but the
construction is the same and the S10/S15 hoods for our year trucks will be
in production soon.
