Life begins at 40?
It looks like my low-mileage, not-for-everyday-transportation Syclone is
racking up mileage. I just reached 40K. I really haven't driven that
many trips, but every time I get in, it seems like the round trip is at
least 70 miles.
It is getting a bit tempremental. The idle seems to be getting rough
now. I don't know what kind of tune up parts the previous owner
installed, but the plug wires say Kenne Bell. Time to replace?
The "mist" setting on the wipers has a mind of its own. It often
activates in conjunction with the turn signals, or sometimes just for
the hell of it. Are the contacts for the switch inside the turn signal
lever, or at the base of the lever inside the steering column? Is there
a way to disable the mist setting, while letting the rest of the wiper
operations function normally?
I celebrated my truck's mid-life crisis by fixing the driver's door
where it had been dragging on the latch post. I also reattached the
fabric panel that fits underneath the sunroof to block out heat/sun.
Most importantly, I finally put in a rearview mirror -- I bought the
truck without one, and didn't want to pay the ~$90 the dealer wanted for
a new one, so I got a junkyard one from a 94 Blazer. I had to change
the wiring harness for it, but now I have map lights that also come on
with the dome light.
