Six-Speed Transmission

There is an article in the current (November) High Tech & Performance
magazine

about modifying a 4L80E tranny valve body so as to create an
intermediate overdrive between 1st and 2nd and between 2nd and 3rd
giving a total of six speeds.
It would seem that our 4L60E could be modified the same way.
Any commentary from our tranny experts would be appreciated.

If the tranny were so modified, would it get us through the 1/4 any
faster?
Some of the list members with soft-dyno software might be willing to
test this prospect.

I am eager to hear from our capable list members on this prospect.
