     Sounds like the valves aren't adjusted correctly. You just replaced
the cam and the rocker assembly is there a possibility that you might
have erred in the procedure for tolerance adjustment or adjustment
sequencing? With the popping in the exhaust could be the result of a
exhaust valve open at ignition. Although it could be as simple as a
timing problem. The distributor could have slipped out of spec. I'd
check the timing first.
