I just installed new cap/rotot/wires/plugs and added a MSD 6A, I was
also going to install a hot coil, untill I saw the condition
of the rotor and cap...They were very "burnt" looking,
just like what I suspect too much spark would do,
although I have never seen or heard of this before.
I suspect the stock HEI is plenty hot, and I
bypassed the hot coil for now.. The MSD has
made my Sy much smoother and removed most
all "pings" at shift points.
