17" wheel offset/backspacing

SyTy members,

Awhile back I had a post about 17" wheels and tires (17"x8" 
245/45ZR17 front, 17"x10" 275/40ZR17 rear), well today I 
had everything put on, but the front wheel/tire stuck out 
too far.

I wanted to know what backspacing/offset any list member 
with 17" wheels were using.

Tire dealer said it was the same offset as the '97 SS S10,
which they put the exact same set-up on.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
