The GTECH or the VERICOM are just accelerometers
that measure "G" forces and time . 4 WD has no bearing on the results
. The VERICOM has to be calibrated before the run , and the
run should be over level terrain . In addition it should be mounted
level horizontally and longitudinally . The VERICOM is a much more accurate
system and they are really good for a comparism after installing mods .
Different atmospheric conditions can cause large variations in performance
. I have run the VERICOM at the dragstrip and the timing is about .2
longer due to rollout than the dragstrip timer but the mph is nearly the same
.

I know there was some dispute about
the accuracy of the "first" generation of the GTECH......from what I remember,
it didn't work well with our trucks because of the AWD - don't quote me on
that, I'm tired right now or I would look it up.
From the Quicktime
movie, it looks like the data logged can be downloaded into a PC and anylized
- It would be nice of someone had access to a demo to give their thoughts on
it - other than it looks cool.

YES
OPIE YOU"VE got it right . The same principles were used for INS
( Inertial Navigation Systems ) in airplanes , ships , etc for many years
