RE: [SYTY] front driveshaft

I bought and installed one this past summer (from Dynotech) I recall about 
$100. There weren't many left tho'. They won't want you to do the work but 
it's pretty easy really. Just follow their concise instructions and it'll 
look pretty good. They give you the green grease too. One of the listers had 
told me that he got a boot for an old Bronco 2 from NAPA. That route might 
be a good alternative - better supply and a lot cheaper. You'll need shaft 
dia and housing OD - or better yet take the shaft in to NAPA. We could all 
use a cheaper source for these parts.

According to the GM manual you need to mark the shaft and mating surfaces on 
both ends before removal and be real careful on disassembly and re-assembly 
of the joint (that big c-clip is the toughest part) not to lose the exact 
alignment of the components.Don't drive or move the truck until after 
re-assembly. (Plenty of stories in the archives abouty horrendous vibrations 
after such an exercise or temporary removal to do some burnouts!)
