Hi all Sy & Ty fellas,
Thank you all for your responses about my enquries. I wanted to clear few things and I thought I would let everyone reads it instead of it going to private e-mails so that we all can benefit from the discussion and share on the knowledge.
1- I can confirm that the O2 sensor is cut and I can see the O2 sensor with some wires coming out of it but its about half an inch long. I think for the chip to be installed I heard that I need the O2 to be re-connected. I have to check with the electrician I know if he can re-wire that device.
2- Thanks to Patrick Johnston I now have the list of gauges to buy which are: Boost/Vacume + Fuel Pressure + Transmission Temp. Those will be the gauge pod on the Lo-Tek A-Piller. The Tach with different colors would be installed somewhere else in the Sy and most probably in the cup holder area as that area is of no use to me. The only concern is that it is too low to look at although I would for sure will angel the whole thing to point up to my vision through the use of a box that I will fabricate to sit in that area and house the tach. Wish there is another solution. Any thoughts.
Dave Goodhue asked if I ever thought of converting to a normal Sy dash and this is a dam good suggestion. I never thought of that actually. Now the question is how much would it cost to do that. I think it would cost somewhere in the range of $500 if not more. While the gauge pod (about $50) and few pods ($120) + a normal tach ($60) plus all the tubing and hardware would be somewhere in the range of ($30). The total is somewhere around half the cost of a normal Sy dash, plus the fact that we operate with the metric system which means that speed should be shown in KM and not in Miles. I also heard that the stock Sy dash gauges are somewhat on the un-precise technology, so the idea of installing something of that quality never crossed my mind actually except if you know something that I do not.
