Well the ignition module and coil cured my problem which sounded just like yours  so I would suggest checking all your grounds and then ECM. Also check http://www.syty.org/archives/syty/search.html
for more additional and good reading dating back 5-or more years.

I had the same thing happen to my Ty a few months ago and changed the the Module and Coil. I was told when one of those go out, sometimes it can short the other so since you changed the module, I would then change the coil and you should be set.

 Hello all,

I`m having weird trouble with my truck, and where hoping (more
like praying) for that any of u wise could help me.

My Sy#2531 is expering randomly engine stop, it can be every
mile or 50 miles.. it just cuts and it starts again randomly
from 1 sec to 30 minuts... running just fine again.
it also seems like happening mostly when crusing within
1000 - 2000 rpms, running third and going 50m/h it seems to
be running forever, twice the fuel consumption.. :D

Also it seems to sometimes the engine wont respond at once
when running at low rpms. sluggish wont run nice.

the check engine light aint coming on when the engine refuses
to start.. (when u turn ignition on).

have been asking every mechanic in the area but they are just
screwing with japs/germans etc.. shame.
too shrink down the reason i changed cap/rotor/plugs/wires and an
module within the distrubutor, seemed to be better and my engine
where suddenly 50hk+ more,.. heh think the old parts where stock.

my sy is modded with ultimate,walboro fuel pump,adjustable fuel
pressure, and more to come when just get it tuned well.

So what do u think i should check ? in my head it can be
everything between bad earth to burned ecm.
reward to the one that solves my headache, cant sleep,eat
or fu.., just thinking on my truck.
