Re: [ISTA] NP205 X-Fer Case..Driveline Gurus..
Is anyone listening to what I have said in the past?
The "Auto-Trac" electronic x-fer case that GM has been putting into their
trucks for a few years now will sense poor traction based on several sensor
inputs and automatically transfer some torque to the front differential via
an electromagnetic clutch. Look for it in the newer Tahoes, Suburbans,
Silverados, etc. {On the left side of the gauge cluster where one would
operate their headlights (as if turning the switches would do anything
anyway seeing as they are fully automatic now....) there will be a three
button setup with each switch properly labeled. There is a 2WD, 4WD auto,
and 4WD low switch.}
When the traction is restored full 2wd action is in full effect.
Sound kinda like a Skyline? Yeah, but not as refined.
Do some research and then we'll go from there.
