Eric,
Pass on the Conley chip.  Get the STG 2-bar or 3-bar setup.  You will be much 
happier with the ability to switch programs.  
I have the single A-pillar pod with a boost gauge.  I'd invest in a quality 
boost gauge then get some sort of scan tool.  Boost gauges can cost as little 
as 20 bucks from JC Whitney to 100's for digital units.  I like the analogs 
myself.  My VDO boost gauge was around 40 bucks.  I dont know for sure as I 
traded some wrench time for it.....
