Re: [ISTA] engine rebuild stuff and such(help wanted)
***DO NOT***, and I repeat ***DO NOT*** use the Pete Jackson gear drive in
your V-6 or BBC.
I should have learned my lesson when I put one in a 454 that I built a few
years ago and took it out after only one oil change. In the BBC's they
chatter at a certain RPM (mine was @ like 2000RPM).
In the 90 degree V-6's (SyTy) they chatter ALL THE TIME. The blower whine
is not even really discernable at an idle because the idler gears are just
sitting there chattering it's really annoying and your engine always sounds
like it's about to blow up. You can hear the whine a little bit at the
higher RPM's, but Pete Jackson doesn't offer a 'noisy' set for our engines
that would really sound like a blower.
Worst ~$140 I EVER spent......
Just my $.02 worth....

Can anyone in the Milky Way Galaxy beat me?
