[ISTA] Hot Shot Relay Install - UGH!!!

Ok, all of those who have installed the hot shot relay. What is the
easiest way to access the wires? I have tried through the wheel well but
cannot loosen the nuts. Should the starter be removed? I think I tried
the remove the starter before and found trouble gettin past the down
pipe and bell housing. What's the secret?
