Re: [ISTA] Motor mounts...

Hi, I don't have a Typhoon, or a Cyclone, but I just happened to see this
post on my brothers e-mail and thought I'd add a little imput. I have a 97
Camaro SS w/ a 6 speed...so hopefully that'll make up for not haveing a
turbo V6.
Anyways, you can replace the motor mounts with the engine in the truck.
Just take out the bolts, use a cherry picker to raise the motor a few
inches, replace the mount, drop the motor back into place, put the bolts
back in. Pretty simple. If it's anything like my car...taking the motor out
isn't exactly a fun job, so you do what you can to avoid having to do that.
Secondly, if you are replacing your mounts, consider replacing them with
Energy Suspension polyurethane mounts. They don't flex like rubber. Since
the motor flexs on the stock units you loose power to the rear. When you put
in the poly mounts you eliminate that flex and gain back a few lost ponies
:)

frame using rubber (stock). It makes for a much more comfortable ride,
because the constant vibration of the engine is isolated from the frame of
the truck.

probably turn round and round in the engine compartment. :) You can do
hard steel motor mounts without any isolation, but it would suck bad.

the engine, but it might be possible. If the engine is out, it's easy as
pie.
