[ISTA] Yesterday

Well, yesterday I had some work done on my truck:

- had the air-ride shocks removed, along with the
stock ones up front (which were shot), and replaced
with RS9000's...pretty good improvement in the ride. I
went with #3 setting on all four. The shocks lowered
the rear by about an inch.

- had rancho's steering stabilizer put on...nice
improvement with less wandering.

- had my fuel pressure checked...oh yeah, it was set
at a nice fat 60psi!!!!! that explains my terrific
9-10mpg gas mileage and fuel odor at times.

- had the general tune up done...plugs, rotor/cap,
pcv, fuel/oil filer.

- had atr plug wires put in...so, i then pay my bill
(reluctantly) and head out on the road and start
chugging up a moderate, lengthy hill, and decide to
go wot...WTF!!!!!!!!!! 7 pounds of boost, all kinds of
misfire, and get passed by a mini-van! So, i pull a
dukes of hazzard u turn and head back to the shop and
explain my problems. they become irritated...go
figure. turns out, one of the plug wires was frayed at
the boot and was contacting some metal, arcing all
over the place. they blamed the quality of the wires.
I blamed the guy who installed them, twenty to one he
was pretty rough when putting them on. AND my fuel
pressure was down to a slim 24psi!

anyways, everythings running good now. and, they want
me to come back for some $75/hr diagnostic work...yeah
right!

just wanted to vent.

Later,
kurt
